I appreciate the concept of the twenty-four solar terms. And summer in Japan sounds very much like summer in Houston, Texas!

Thank you so much. I’m glad the idea of the twenty-four solar terms resonated with you.

I’ve heard Houston summers are very humid too, so Japanese summer may feel somewhat familiar. Are heat-protection and sun-protection goods common in Texas as well?

Yes, sunscreening lotions and clothes are available all year round. Like Japan, hurricanes are not uncommon, but not annually. Houston has thunderstorms and heavy rain in season. From what I have read, our winters are mild compared to a lot of Japan. We have freezing temperatures and occasional icy conditions, but rarely for long, and snow is uncommon. No earthquakes here, though! Best wishes to you!

Thank you for sharing that. Houston and Japan seem to overlap in some ways, especially with humidity and heavy rain, while being very different in others.

No earthquakes and very little snow sound like they would make life easier in some ways. Thank you for telling me.

Best wishes to you as well.
